It’s a little bit live, a little bit virtual, but in the end, it’s a whole lot of music, art, information, education, and hopefully, healing in a year where First Nations people need it more than ever. It’s the Fifth Annual Celebration of Nations in Downtown St. Catharines, Niagara’s annual indigenous arts gathering celebrating creativity, diversity and resilience.

When the Sacred Fire is lit in the back of the St. Catharines Performing Arts Centre, it will signify the start of three days of exceptional programming that includes everything from poetry readings and choirs to two amazing live ticketed events.

The first – Treaty: A Reconciliation Revelry – is a concert event designed to take viewers on a journey of varied experiences through stories of encounter and conflict to resolution. The programs stories and messages, conveyed through video, narrative, and live music, seek to focus public attention on Indigenous contributions to Canada and their struggle to have appropriate acknowledgement embedded within the conscience of the country. The event goes Friday September 10^th at 7:30pm at Partridge Hall.

The second – An Evening with Amanda Rheaume and Logan Staats – includes these two celebrated Indigenous singer-songwriters on stage at the Partridge Hall as well as an opening performance by Strong Water Woman. The performance is scheduled September 11^th at 7:30pm and includes both in person performance and live-stream access.
